Last week was our favourite night of the year: the Distinct Christmas party—when everyone across the business comes together in one room. Cleaners, butlers, housekeepers, warehouse crew, head office and everyone in between. One invite list. One team. And a night that celebrates the people behind everything we do.
Why this night matters so much to us
It’s easy for a business to feel split into departments, locations, or job titles—especially when teams work different shifts, in different buildings, or rarely cross paths in the day-to-day. But that’s not how we see it at Distinct.
We’re one team, and we want that to feel true in practice—not just in words.
That’s why everyone who works for Distinct gets an invite to our Christmas party. No “head office only.” No separate groups. No barriers. Just the whole team, all together.
What bringing everyone together actually does
It reinforces respect across every role
When cleaners, butlers, housekeepers, warehouse crew and head office are all in the same room, it sends a clear message: every role matters here. The business only works because every part of it works—and we’re proud of the people who make that happen.
It builds connection across the business
Some people rarely meet in the normal rhythm of work. A night like this creates the chance to put faces to names, share stories, and build the kind of familiarity that strengthens culture throughout the year.
It’s a thank you that feels real
We never want appreciation to be a quick message in a company-wide email. This night is about properly celebrating the team—time together, good food, laughs, and a bit of well-earned fun.
It boosts morale and momentum into the new year
End-of-year energy can be intense. Coming together like this creates a shared high point—a reset—and a reminder that we’re heading into the next year together.
A proper celebration (the way it should be)
Between some very committed turns on the dancefloor, we had:
- An open bar
- Enough pizza to feed an army
- A raffle with cash prizes, extra holiday days, travel passes, designer pieces, Christmas hampers
- Plus a few wild-card prizes like dinner with the boss
The energy was high, the dancefloor stayed busy, and yes—there were almost certainly a few sore heads the next morning.
One team, all in the same room
If you can tell anything from the photos, it’s this: people felt relaxed, included, and celebrated. That’s what we want our culture to feel like, not just at Christmas—but all year round.
To everyone who came (and everyone who helped make it happen): thank you. We’re lucky to have you, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s favourite night.
